    My role is to look in every nook and crevice of your business to ensure no stone has been left unturned. Even if the work isn’t finished (4 weeks goes by very quickly) but in the end, you will know exactly what to do, how to do it and who you need to get on board.

⭭ HERE’S HOW I SEE THE ROLE OF A CEO

Let me break it down for you into 6 crucial parts ⭭

  • The CEO is the one to articulate the light on the hill* ie where we’ll be in 5… 10… 20 years from now. This is informed by others (including team, directors’ investors), they need to feel ownership over it and connection to it, but it is the job of the CEO to weave these inputs together and have the final say on where the company is headed.

  • This involves translating the vision into tangible priorities and actions that will deliver the vision. Doing this requires you to move between the big picture and the detail. The CEO is the only one who has the company-wide view necessary to do this.

  • Internally and externally. Constantly. Repetitively. The job of the CEO is to motivate, align and inspire everyone else to adopt the strategy. Even if you think it's obvious and everyone knows it already - it isn't, and they don't. Say it again and again. Say it louder.

  • You’re going to need both capital and human resources to deliver the strategy.

  • You can’t execute the strategy alone – the CEO needs a team of capable and inspired people to play their part in delivering the strategy to achieve the vision Building. A solid team requires active and intentional management.

  • This means keeping your people focused on the strategy and priorities, delivering them on time and to a high standard. The better job you do on steps 1-5, the less time you need to spend here.
